Even MORE plans for the kewlist website!!
Some more ideas, and updates on the site's progress since before.

TWs: none
Heyo, guess who's back with more site content! Yipee! Since my previous blog post, I've been paying attention and writing down every website idea I have. My last list was cool and all, but I haven't even scratched the surface. I shall chase my ambition determinately, despite however my wrists feel about it! So, first I'll update on what's changed since last time. Then I'll throw out some new ideas.
Finally, a real homepage!
Check it out, boy! I got a real homepage now, pictured above. It's getting me very excited, and it's becoming hard to pull away from my computer. I bet I probably seem like a depressed person, given how I'm staying in my room 24/7. But no, I'm actually just coding! I'm very happy with it so far. This puts the old homepage to shame. Well, the old homepage was cringe the whole time, but whatever. I cooked. I actually barely slept last night because my mind was racing so much. I live at my computer now.
Socials page in progress!
Next, the socials page! I'm more or less finished with it now! Just ignore the "Image title", alright? Getting that text centered and under the image took super long for some reason. I guess I was so focused on positioning the text that I didn't actually get to write said text lol.

One thing I'd like to do though is create an animated profile picture. For the past two years my profile pictures have had the normal static version, and an animated version to be used on sites that support that. I think it's awesome, but animating a new one every year is a chore. So, I want to make an animated one which will be separate from my static one. That way I'll have a cool animated profile picture that I can use for those sites, and my normal profile picture for everything else. The normal one I'll redraw annually as is routine, and the animated one I'll remake whenever I want. Once I've animated it, I will put it at the top of the socials page. It will be so epic.

Graphics page almost done!
Did I really not mention the graphics page on my last post? I think what happened was that since it was in the homepage screencap, I didn't feel the need to explain it. I mean, it's a graphics page. It's pretty self explanatory, I reckon. This is a page where I will put all the free to use graphics I've made, free to download! It's almost done, I just need to get through the backlog of graphics to upload, and mess with the CSS a little. This one will definitely be there on launch day!

A new painting page!
This one has got me the most excited. This is an on-site art program! It's not much, given it's only a handful of colors, only one layer, and no undo button. Nonetheless, the fact this is even a thing is so awesome to me! I am also trying to figure out how to incorporate a color picker here. I know how to add a color picker, but I don't know how to make said selected color into the color being used. And, would multiple layers really be out of the realm of possibility? It's just the canvas, but multiple of them stacked on top of each other. What about a paint bucket tool? Different brush tips? There is so much potential here.

My favorite thing about this is that it's all on-site! Meaning, this is not embedded from somewhere else. Nope, just HTML, CSS, and Javascript all right here! Hopefully that means it will work still on the Internet Archive. Hey, are you from far in the future, perhaps viewing this from the Wayback Machine? Why not give it a go! Even if you're not that far in the future, you should still check it out! I am very happy with it, and I would love to see what can be done with it going forward.
Started a guestbook!
Yesterday I created this guestbook section of my homepage. If you don't know, a guestbook is a place where visiters can write comments. Sometimes it's feedback, or just saying hello, or whatever! This often also includes a link to the commenter's own site, if they have one.
So anyway, here is my guestbook! As you can see, it only has me for now, since I'm the only one with access to the site. One day, it would be so cool to have a handful from other people! On the left, you can submit anything that you've made in the painting page. On the right, you can comment without adding an image.

It allows the option to add an image to represent yourself, though being anonymous is allowed too. It also has the user's name, which links to their site (if applicable), and the date the comment was submitted on! My favorite part about it is how the text box looks like a cartoon speech bubble. I think it's adorable, and I've even made tons more speech bubble variations to use!

There are 22 total speech bubble variations to choose from, which I think will add much more character to each user's submission. It's going to be so cool. I am very happy.
Ads for site pages!
Here is another idea I've failed to mention last time. Banner ads! The idea here is that if there's anything in particular I want to draw visiters to, I will display an ad for it! That way they can get there easily without having to find it. For example, if I wanted to direct people to a specific blog post, I can use an ad! Then, they won't have to search for it in the blog page. This will probably give certain pages more attention when they otherwise may be easily missed. I decided to make an ad already, which is this one:

It's an ad for my Animal Crossing island! Remember I was talking about making a webpage for it last post? Well, I'm feeling committed to the idea. The reason I decided to make an ad for that first is simply because it'd be easier to make one where I don't need to draw anything. I just used a video from the island and went from there! Now I have one ad, and I can see how it looks on the homepage. I hope to make more ads soon! Also, I hope to make the island page soon too, lest the ad has nothing to link to.
My first site button!
Here is my first site button, which is actually not very new. I just haven't mentioned it. It's of baby Coconut giving a little wave. Nothing complicated. I used a 3D model I have on hand for the same reason I used a video for the Animal Crossing island ad. Because it's easier, and I want to just have something good enough so I can decide where to put it and everything else. I'll make a cooler one later, but this is a good start I reckon.

Despite being a bit thrown together, I do like it. That's mostly because I like the 3D model a lot. It's my only character rig that isn't held together with spit and glue. It actually works great! Also, he's really stupid looking. Look at his dumb ass face. This creature is super skrunkly and I think he's funny to look at. What is that thing.

My other ideas.
Now, I'll throw out some ideas that I haven't mentioned before. The homepage right now has text of these hypothetical pages, but they might not all come to fruition. I won't mention pages which I've explained before.

First, the "projects" page, which is essentially just the portfolio page I was talking about on my last post.
Next, the "characters" page. The idea here is I can make a web page for each of my ocs! I already have something like that on my Toyhou.se, and on my Art Fight account. But, in the realm of HTML, I can customize like nothing else. I can put everything, and I mean everything! Graphics (both of them, and for them), art, music, videos, comics... everything! It's a pretty ambitious idea, but then I'll have the most comprehensive place for my characters than anywhere else on the web. This definitely won't be ready on launch day, but one day it'll exist in full, and it will be so awesome.
Next up, the "toy box" page! This one is something I've seen many other people do, and I want to join in. It's essentially a page where you put all the graphics you've collected online! I have tons, which are scattered across my desktop and my Imgurr account. I'd love to have them all laid out and organized, so that's what this is for.
Now, here's a bit of a weird one. The "dictionary" page! It is exactly what it sounds like. There are tons of cool words out there which I like to use, but I need to remember them in order to. I have a long dictionary on my phone which is very unorganized, and it's also missing a lot of words. This page will have all these words and their definitions! I know this one is pretty random, but I enjoy the idea. The world needs to know about these awesome words. How else will you hear about words and terms like "surreptitious", "pejoration", "suffering martyr syndrome", "scintilla", "greebles", "interoception", "kenopsia", and "phosphene"? Or maybe even "generativity", which you could say to describe this very process of sharing words and terms for people of the future, if you want to be fancy about it.
Below that, there is the "trinkets" page! I am someone who likes to collect a bunch of random objects. It actually becomes a problem more often than not, because I run out of space to put all this stuff. Anyway, the idea for this page is that I can document some things I have and provide context about them. That is, when I got it, why and how, what it means to me, and why I've decided it's worth keeping. This is also helpful for the fact that I often forget this information, and as you can probably infer by now, I like information to be organized. It'll even be good in the case that I ever lose or get rid of anything. Then they'll still be a picture and the memory attached, and for some things, that's a good enough replacement. A lot of things are more about what they mean to me, as opposed to the value of the actual thing itself. I wanted to do this as a kind of scrapbook, but doing a web page saves printer ink. I might just do this for myself and not put it online, but who knows? Maybe if I feel it's interesting enough it'll be worth sharing. I'm going to fiddle with the idea for a bit and see how it goes.
Next, the "free stuffs". I already talked about the "graphics" page, so I won't go into it. But what of the "printables" page? Well, I'm almost done making my first zine, for one! Other than zines, I think it's a great place for my sewing patterns. I've made quite the handful of sewing patterns over the years which I'm sure some would like. All I'll really need to do is scan the paper cutouts I have, and viola! Now anyone can print out the pattern and use it themselves! Here's an example of a recent pattern I've made, because I couldn't find a pattern anything like it online:

Do excuse the fact that these photos do not show it very well. These are the best photos I have at the moment. Anyway, look at the paws! They're puffy and three fingered. I couldn't find anything like what I was imagining, so I created the pattern from scratch! I basically just winged it, and I think they turned out cool. Maybe someone else out there has been trying to do poofy three fingered paw gloves. Then, uploading the pattern will be pretty helpful. I have a lot more sewing patterns too, so a "printables" page may be in order.
Also under "free stuffs" is the "code templates" page. I figure I can put blank versions of a lot of my pages here to help those making their own site! This and every other page left are pretty self explanatory, I'd say.
Other ideas not listed.
Now I've went over all the pages I've listed in my homepage, but I of course have even more ideas! For one, lore stuff! I don't know exactly how this will go, but I think it would be really cool to have pages that are presented like they are within my paracosm. That is, for example, if one my characters has a website, I could make it here, and completely in character! Way back when I was making Amnesia, I actually did something like this. I made a webpage, purely for my own immersion, for Pipe Dreams Clinic! Except, that HTML file has been very broken for years now. I'll have to fix most of it, but it would be cool to see, yeah? There's plenty of other things I can do with this concept, too. Maybe a page for Dazzle and Bimbo, or Meow Mix, or maybe even a page for dreamers to connect and share their experiences. I could really run with this, if I let myself.
Lastly, the craziest idea of all. A game! I've wanted to make a browser game for a really long time. It was nowhere in my reasoning for making this site, but since I'm making a site anyway, why not revisit the idea? The idea is basically a choose your own adventure game. It will be a story driven game that gives you different choices. Each choice branches off into different versions of the story, so most people will have a different experience playing it! They'll definitely be a few endings at least, but imagining it in my head, it might be more like a dozen. Even the very first choice changes the game drastically. That is, when you start the game, you're given the option to choose your character. However, this isn't just a choice of what is essentially an avatar. Each character is their own person. They have their own personalities, strengths and weaknesses, resources at their disposal, and just different lives as a whole. The premise of the story is the same, but who it happens to changes a ton. Then, within each character branch, there are even more branches for each choice made after that! I'm pretty passionate about this idea.
I actually wrote a choose your own adventure story before, and I loved it. I especially like how I can "manipulate" the audience. For example, I could present things so the player thinks one choice would help them, when in fact the opposite would be more beneficial. You can't overdo that though, because they'll catch on. Sometimes in real life, you do everything right and bad things still happen. Sometimes, you can get really lucky due to nothing you've done yourself. Sometimes, you're trapped between two really hard choices, and you'll feel bad for picking either of them. My point is, when you give the audience control, and you're essentially the god of this world, things can get very interesting. Given how much I've said about it, I reckon you can probably tell that I really want to do it. I probably will, but it's a big project, and now's not the time for more on my plate. One day, for sure...
Anywho, that's all from me for now. I bet for sure that I've forgotten an idea or two, but whatever. No need to document every waking thought of mine, anyway. Good night, gang.
